About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Actuarial Trainee Consultant to join our team at Hymans Robertson. As a key member of our actuarial services team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients with their pension scheme needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our clients to understand their pension scheme requirements and provide high-quality actuarial services.
  • Prepare actuarial calculations, including scheme funding, company accounting work, and individual member calculations.
  • Support the development of actuarial and consulting services, including proposition development and new business initiatives.
  • Liaise with client managers and team leaders to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Prepare client invoices and ensure timely and accurate time recording.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and maintain a high level of technical knowledge.

Requirements

  • A strong degree in a numerate subject (ideally 2.1 or above).
  • Progress with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries examinations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with actuarial and computing techniques.
  • Relevant pensions experience and a sound understanding of the legislative framework for UK pension schemes.
