Job Summary

The Operations Manager will lead the Operations team to make informed decisions that positively impact both personnel and the business unit. As a leader in operations, it is essential to build a culture that promotes safety, growth, and development within the team, as well as advancing systems and processes for operations in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Promote and lead a strong HSE culture at all times.
  • Introduce safety-driven initiatives to reduce incidents and hazards in all operations.
  • Participate in company HSE Observation card, STOP, and LSR Self Verification Programs.
  • Use SWA to stop a job if deemed unsafe, preventing accidents/incidents.
  • Work and abide by 6 life-saving rules: energy isolation, working at heights, suspended loads, radiation, confined space, and pressure testing.
Leadership and Technical Skills
  • Develop and mentor personnel.
  • Promote the highest standard of morals and ethics.
  • Create and implement development plans for direct reports.
  • Have open communications with other functions (Projects, Engineering, Bids and Proposals, SCM) to execute tasks flawlessly.
  • Track and drive Technician Competencies and ensure completion.
  • Participate in global and regional initiatives as a team leader or participant.
  • Communicate and collaborate with regional and global peers to implement global and regional policies and best practices.
  • Communicate with direct reports constantly, maintaining open and honest information and feedback.
Technical and Operations Management
  • Manage operations teams in delegating work for assigned scopes.
  • Oversee the usage of asset and maintenance management systems to log equipment maintenance, current asset locations, and equipment certifications.
  • Participate in Project and Engineering meetings as required and delegate attendance when needed.
  • Delegate work to the team.
  • Understand technical work instructions and engineering drawings, including general assembly, P&ID, Electrical and hydraulic schematics, and assembly procedures.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives operated by Oceaneering.
  • Manage the reporting of Non-conformances and cost of poor quality (COPQ), and the Management of Change (MOC) process, as well as all other current or future Project Management Fundamentals processes.
  • Assist with all technical data for jobs, such as changes to drawings, schematics, OMMs, etc., as required for the job.
  • Interface with client representatives as necessary.
  • Work as a positive and collaborative team player in team environments.
  • Maintain credentials and complete required training online in Oceaneering's chosen Learning Management System (Sum Total).
Additional Responsibilities
  • Run morning Operations toolbox talks.
  • Participate in the review and close-out of action items/gaps found in the above-mentioned HSE programs (Observation cards, STOP, and LSR Self Verification).
  • Assist with any other duties as and when required.
  • Undertake specific projects as instructed by Supervisors/Management.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has supervisory responsibilities for all UK-based Subsea Technicians reporting through OPG, as well as UK-based OMW technicians reporting through OPG.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure readiness status of all equipment in the location of responsibility.
  • Ensure the readiness and competency of all offshore and onshore technicians.
  • Repair and Maintenance cost of equipment.
  • All processes changes or implementation is completed and maintained across the area of given responsibility.
Key Interactions
  • Discuss with Operations the readiness of equipment to support upcoming requirements and ongoing projects.
  • Discuss with Project Managers the crew selection, preparedness, and overall competency performance.
  • Discuss local technical and engineering support, any new or ongoing support requirements.
  • Daily interaction with Global Mobility.
Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or Management preferred and/OR
  • Relevant Oilfield experience to include at least three (3) years of Administrative, Office, or Operations Management experience; or, any combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

Working Conditions (Requires Regional Variance)

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows:

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
  • Work surface is stable (flat).
