An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work in an excellent special needs school near Bristol City Centre.

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with children with various SEND needs, including Autism, Downs Syndrome, and Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities.

The ideal candidate will be patient, caring, and able to respond to the individual needs of SEND children. They will also have experience in personal care and be comfortable with supporting children who may exhibit challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Supporting 1:1 in class or in small groups
  • Making learning fun and enjoyable
  • Being a support to the pupils when they are struggling, and helping them to calm down and remain focussed
  • Building a strong relationship with the pupils and teaching staff to ensure that the pupils are achieving their potential
Essential Criteria
  • Be empathetic, kind, and patient
  • Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa)
  • Two recent child/vulnerable adult-based references, covering the last 2 years
  • A relevant DBS/Police checks
  • Access to bicycle, car or near main bus routes
  • Able to work 8.30-3.30, consistently 2 to 5 days per week, term time only

The daily rate of pay is £85.00*, which includes holiday pay. *This includes holiday pay.
