Job Title: Health and Safety Manager

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our client, a leading manufacturer and wholesaler of FMCG products. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining health and safety standards across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures across all sites.
  • Review and implement emergency planning and evacuation procedures.
  • Provide health and safety advice and guidance to all levels of the business.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans, including COSHH assessments.
  • Develop and deliver health and safety training programs and assist in staff inductions.
  • Chair environmental and sustainability group meetings.
  • Organize and prepare OHAS assessments, working with the team to ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and make recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Monitor and review health and safety performance metrics.
  • Keep up to date with relevant health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • Work with external agencies and stakeholders on health and safety issues.
  • Lead health and safety committees and other relevant forums.
  • Work with the team to conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Lead compliance audits and work with stakeholders on corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • Experienced HS&E professional with a relevant NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience in implementing HS&E processes in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Extensive working knowledge of health and safety at work regulations.
  • Excellent overall communication skills.
  • UK driving license, happy to commute to other business locations as required.
  • Knowledge of OHAS procedures is desirable.
  • Able to work independently, but as part of a team.
  • Very good general IT skills (MS Office).
