About the Role

The National Tax Technical team is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Technical Expert to provide technical support to partners and staff across RSM UK.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical guidance on indirect tax issues to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external communications on indirect tax technical issues to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical developments in indirect tax law and practice to identify business opportunities and mitigate risks.

Detailed Duties:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver specific technical policy support and guidance on identified issues, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Communicate key technical developments internally and externally through written materials, presentations, and training sessions.
  • Identify business development opportunities from case law and legislative developments, providing actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Prepare and review VAT and indirect tax content for external marketing materials, aligning with RSM UK's brand strategy.
  • Respond to client-related VAT and indirect tax technical queries, ensuring prompt and accurate responses.
  • Draft, edit, and deliver training materials and presentations on VAT and indirect tax topics.
  • Maintain and develop tax technical information resources, including guides, articles, and FAQs.
  • Contribute to consultations on VAT and indirect tax matters, representing RSM UK's expertise and interests.
  • Attend regular and ad-hoc meetings and calls within the National Tax Technical department, promoting effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional tax technical, research, and analysis skills, with a strong understanding of indirect tax laws and regulations.
  • Able to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely in writing, both internally and externally.
  • Proven project management skills to ensure timely delivery of work, meeting deadlines and exceeding expectations.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per year.
