Credit Controller

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our established ledger team as we embark on a period of growth and expansion. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing the company's cash flow, ensuring timely payments from customers, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, cashbooks, and general ledgers
- Conduct credit checks on new and existing customers to assess their creditworthiness
- Chase payments and resolve any issues related to invoice queries and payments
- Allocate customer receipts, including complex settlement discount structures
- Liaise with sales colleagues to ensure timely payment from customers
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Highlight and report debtor problems to management
- Perform month-end reconciliations, debit note, and credit note processing
- Manage customer rebate programs and analyze their effectiveness
- Qualified by experience in a similar role
- Confident working with multiple IT systems, including MS Office, Power BI, and E8
- Excellent Excel skills and ability to adapt to change positively
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Flexible approach and strong organizational skills
- Good people engagement and communication skills
- Experience of cashbook, daily banking, and general ledger work
- Capable of ledger management and fundamental accounting practices
- Ability to identify improvements and implement them
