Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Urban Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Bristol City Council. As an Urban Infrastructure Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping the future of urban transport in Bristol. You will work closely with our Road Safety Team to develop and implement innovative solutions that promote safety, accessibility, and sustainability. Your primary responsibility will be to lead road safety initiatives and projects within the City Transport service area, providing expert road safety advice and ensuring that all projects meet budget, timeframes, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Project Delivery: Design, manage, and deliver road safety projects and safety camera enforcement programmes from inception to completion.
  • Provide Road Safety Expertise: Offer specialist advice to stakeholders on road safety practices that support the broader goals of creating healthy, active environments.
  • Team Leadership: Support and mentor members of the Road Safety Team, offering guidance and technical expertise to help them deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Data Analysis: Research and analyse available data sources related to road collisions and casualties to identify key issues and opportunities for proactive road safety activities.
  • Road Safety Audits: Provide advice and support on Road Safety Audits, approving briefs and audit teams, and undertaking audits aligned with statutory regulations and safe public spaces.

Requirements:
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong background in road safety engineering, experience in delivering projects that incorporate safety and public health objectives.
  • Holistic Problem Solver: A forward-thinking individual who understands the intersection of transport, public health, and sustainability, developing solutions that balance these objectives.
  • Communication Excellence: Proven ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
