Fettes College is a renowned educational institution seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Matron to join its team. This role presents an exceptional opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting the holistic development of young students.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for the students in their care. This includes:
- Reporting incidents and concerns to the Houseparent as soon as possible
- Encouraging open relationships with students to facilitate discussion of personal issues
- Maintaining a clean and tidy living space, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards
- Providing medical attention and administering medication as required
- Communicating effectively with parents and guardians regarding student absences, requests, and other matters
- Performing administrative tasks, such as recording consultations, treatments, and laundry lists
- Liaising with various school departments to ensure seamless collaboration and communication
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- An organized and methodical approach to work
- Demonstrated experience in domestic settings, preferably within education or childcare
- Proficiency in computer software and systems
- A friendly, firm, and empathetic demeanor
- A recognized qualification in Childcare or Social Care, or willingness to obtain one within a specified timeframe
- Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
