Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for the students in their care. This includes:

  • Reporting incidents and concerns to the Houseparent as soon as possible
  • Encouraging open relationships with students to facilitate discussion of personal issues
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy living space, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards
  • Providing medical attention and administering medication as required
  • Communicating effectively with parents and guardians regarding student absences, requests, and other matters
  • Performing administrative tasks, such as recording consultations, treatments, and laundry lists
  • Liaising with various school departments to ensure seamless collaboration and communication

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • An organized and methodical approach to work
  • Demonstrated experience in domestic settings, preferably within education or childcare
  • Proficiency in computer software and systems
  • A friendly, firm, and empathetic demeanor
  • A recognized qualification in Childcare or Social Care, or willingness to obtain one within a specified timeframe
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
