About the Role

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Leader to join our team at Tesco. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of colleagues to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of colleagues to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the store, including opening and closing procedures, stock management, and cash handling
  • Develop and implement plans to improve customer satisfaction and sales performance
  • Recruit, train, and develop colleagues to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively
  • Monitor and control costs, including labor, stock, and energy expenses
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including health and safety, security, and data protection

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a retail or customer-facing role, with a strong track record of delivering exceptional customer service
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and retail systems
