Automation Specialist

We are seeking an Automation Specialist to join our team at Quarsh | B Corp Certified. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new and maintaining older machines, and will have a strong understanding of PLC programming and industrial automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the maintenance team when issues arise
  • Develop new test equipment
  • Implement lean improvements through automation
  • Work with the Design team to productionise new Products, assisting on handover
  • Bring in new machines in controlled manner and help with integration

Requirements:

  • Degree level or equivalent qualification in computer engineering or similar
  • PLC programming and industrial automation
  • Strong understanding of ladder logic, control flow, and PLC hardware architecture
  • Proficiency in PLC programming languages, such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Rockwell Automation
  • Experience with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) software and SCADA systems a plus
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Understanding of legacy software such as QBasic would be a benefit but not essential
