Job ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibility of the Service Technician is to perform maintenance and repairs on equipment at client locations in a safe, professional, and cost-effective manner. This includes maintaining accurate documentation of all work performed in accordance with Health and Safety and Quality standards.
The role requires adherence to a structured schedule of service and maintenance tasks at customer sites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting inspections and ensuring the safety of repaired and maintained equipment.
- Completing job sheets, timesheets, and parts requisition paperwork accurately and within specified timeframes.
- Managing all tools and equipment, ensuring they are safe and suitable for the tasks at hand.
- Adhering to strict schedules and deadlines.
To qualify for this position, candidates should possess knowledge in at least one of the following fields and be open to further training:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Hydraulics
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively, possess strong communication skills, and maintain high standards of work while meeting deadlines.
Candidate ProfileEssential Skills:
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing faults.
- Educational background that includes achieving a grade C in English and Maths at GCSE.
- Experience with Health & Safety protocols in a workshop environment.
- Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
- Excellent organizational skills, resourcefulness, and a solution-oriented mindset.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Capability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
- Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Consultative and negotiation abilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to the diverse demands of the role.
- Highly motivated and resilient under pressure.

Desirable Skills:
- Recent experience in the forklift service sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Relevant engineering qualifications.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday – 08:00am to 16:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Company Vehicle:
A company van and fuel card are provided, with the option for personal use in accordance with tax regulations.
