Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Magnet Modelling Developer to play a key role in the development of advanced magnet modelling capabilities.

You will be responsible for creating and refining numerical models to predict the behaviour of high temperature superconductor (HTS) magnets used in our fusion devices.

Your work will contribute to the optimization and design of magnet systems, helping to ensure their successful operation in our tokamaks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering, physics, maths or software engineering based discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience coding with MATLAB or Python and creating well organized, structured code
  • Experience with compiled languages eg C++ or FORTRAN and massively parallel GPU computing
  • Experience running very large simulations and high performance computing
  • Experience with writing integration and unit tests for code development and/or test-driven development
  • Experience managing a GIT repository and building a CI/CD pipeline
