Culinary Assistant

Prestwick Care, a family-run care home provider in the North East, is seeking an experienced Second Chef to join our team at Hadrian House in Wallsend. As a key member of our catering service, you will work closely with our Head Chef to deliver high-quality food and excellent customer service.

Reporting to: Home Manager

We are offering a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional development and career growth within the company.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, with excellent culinary skills and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service. You will be a team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to learn and adapt to changing circumstances.

Key Responsibilities:

• To assist the Head Chef in providing a high-quality catering service and taking charge of the service in their absence.
• To work within company policies and procedures, ensuring that all areas of the kitchen operate to the highest possible standards.
• To supervise and instruct junior staff members in all aspects of their work, providing guidance and support where needed.
• To understand and implement the Care Home's Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.
• To report any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, or potential hazards to the Home Manager or Handyperson.
