We are seeking a talented Emissions Assessment Specialist to join our Ratings Team at Sylvera. As a key member of our department, you will play a critical role in evaluating carbon projects that capture, remove, or avoid emissions. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality data insights and drive business growth.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading-edge technology platform and collaborate with a diverse team of scientists, policy experts, finance specialists, and carbon market professionals. You will have the chance to leverage the latest technology and methodologies to develop and test rigorous ratings frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of carbon project documentation, scientific literature, news reports, modeling formulas, time series data, and geospatial data.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless knowledge sharing and quality assurance processes.
  • Developing and implementing innovative analytics approaches to drive business growth and improve decision-making.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in quantitative analysis techniques and experience with common tools (Sheets, GIS software, SQL, Python).
  • Excellent written communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas effectively.
  • A passion for climate change and sustainability, with a desire to contribute to making a positive impact.

What We Offer

In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits, including private health insurance, life assurance, unlimited annual leave, enhanced parental leave, and access to mental health support.
