This role is for a Product Engineering Specialist to work in Cwmbran, Wales, United Kingdom, for Cummins Inc.

You will be part of a team developing advanced sensing systems for drivetrain and braking components, using Matlab/Simulink and other tools to drive innovation and enhance vehicle performance and safety.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, testing, and producing advanced sensing systems for drivetrain and braking components.
  • Managing all aspects of engineering products, including project timing, costs, and prototype builds.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to create system requirements for electrified drivetrain components.
  • Supporting external customers to define software features and system interfaces.
  • Ensuring products meet ISO-26262 functional and technical safety requirements.
  • Troubleshooting issues and testing systems on benches, dynos, and in vehicles.
  • Mentoring less experienced engineers and leading smaller projects or complex components.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or applied science, with a master's in engineering (MSE) highly preferred, along with substantial practical experience.
  • Experience with sensors, data analytics, and commercial vehicle systems, including proficiency in CAN, CCP, and XCP communication tools.
  • Skilled in computer model-based design (Python, Matlab/SIMULINK, C, C++, PowerSim, TruckSim) and data acquisition/analysis systems.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is $90,000 - $120,000 per year.
