About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Forensic Mental Health Care Specialist to join our team at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with complex mental health needs.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist assessment, care planning, and interventions to service users within our Forensic Psychiatry Community Service. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive assessments and develop personalized care plans that cater to the unique needs of each service user.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including Consultant Forensic Psychiatrists, to ensure seamless care coordination and effective case management.
  • Contribute to the development of practice guidelines and standards within the team, focusing on best practices in assessment, care planning, and intervention.
  • Liaise with community statutory and non-statutory services to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care.
Requirements
  • Mental Health Practitioner (Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist) or equivalent qualification.
  • Significant experience working with service users with acute psychiatric disorders and complex mental health needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with service users, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong clinical skills, with a focus on evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
Working Arrangements

This is a full-time permanent position, requiring flexibility and adaptability to work within a dynamic healthcare environment. The post involves shift work on a rotational basis, with occasional travel required between locations. A full UK driving license and use of a vehicle are essential for this role.
