About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Community Learning Disability Team in West Dorset. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will provide psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment to adults with learning disabilities who have a range of psychological conditions.

Our team of psychologists have a number of therapy specialties, including EMDR, CAT, ACT, and CBT. We are involved in various initiatives, such as developing the dementia pathway, creating therapy packs, capacity assessments, and more.

You will assist with supervision to assistant psychologists and guide doctoral trainee clinical psychologists on placement. We provide excellent clinical supervision, support, and opportunities for professional development.

We offer a comprehensive Preceptorship Programme from Band 7 to Band 8a for this role. This is a great opportunity to consolidate and develop core skills learned during clinical training, under the supervision of highly skilled and experienced clinical psychologists.

Main Duties
  • Provide psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment to adults with learning disabilities.
  • Assist with supervision to assistant psychologists and guide doctoral trainee clinical psychologists on placement.
  • Develop and implement therapy plans, including EMDR, CAT, ACT, and CBT.
  • Contribute to team meetings and discussions on service development and professional development.
