Job Summary:

The New Appointment Group is seeking a skilled Electronics Assembly Technician to join our team. As a Surface Mount Assembly Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting in the manufacture of electronic assemblies within our production department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembly of small volume surface mount PCBs by hand, including operation of our reflow oven
  • Manufacture of cable assemblies
  • Full operation of our pick and place machine, including loading components
  • Programming of the pick and place for new boards using a PC
  • Assisting with mechanical assembly of our products when required
  • Liaising with the engineering team regarding production problems
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Requirements:

  • Ability to hand solder and knowledge of IPC-A-610 (best practice) and other relevant standards
  • Experience in the assembly of SMT PCBs to required standards
  • Understanding of pick and place technology, PCB production, and gerber files
  • Ability to follow specific instructions and manufacturing documents
  • Experience in a professional manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team

Working Hours:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to adjust start and finish times within our general opening hours.
