We are seeking two Consultants in Gastroenterology with General Medicine expertise to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. The main site for these posts will be Weston General Hospital, with opportunities for cross-site working with Bristol Royal Infirmary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hold full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or be a holder of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or evidence of within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by date of interview.
  • Have a higher academic qualification and evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in relevant specialty.
  • Be registered with JAG as competent in diagnostic and therapeutic OGD, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy.
  • Be able to take responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision and have skills in upper and lower endoscopy.
  • Participate in continuing professional development (CPD) scheme and, where relevant, evidence of participation.
Teaching and Training
  • Have experience of teaching medical students.
  • Evidence of management training and evidence of learning from it.
  • Have good knowledge of, and ability to use, spoken and written English.
  • Be able to be a flexible team member.

We are looking for individuals who can increase the academic profile of the department and undertake additional professional responsibilities at local, regional, or national levels.
