Mechanical Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team at Recra Consulting. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to take on a challenging role, working on electrical and mechanical systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring they are operating efficiently and safely. This will involve carrying out planned preventive maintenance activities, responding promptly to breakdowns or equipment failures, and performing inspections, tests, and measurements to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventive maintenance activities on electrical and mechanical systems to minimize downtime and ensure efficiency.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns or equipment failures, diagnosing and repairing faults on both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Perform inspections, tests, and measurements to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams to troubleshoot and address cross-functional issues when necessary.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A recognized qualification relevant to the role, such as a mechanical or electrical City & Guilds certificate.
- Skilled in both electrical and mechanical trades, preferably with an apprenticeship and indentures.
- Knowledge of other engineering disciplines, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and steam systems.
- Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
This role operates on a 4 on 4 off continental shift pattern, with days and nights rotating. You will be expected to work flexible hours, including unsocial hours and night shifts.
