Orion Electrotech is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Field Service Specialist to join our team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned field service engineer with extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing complex machinery. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and be able to work independently.

Job Summary

We are looking for a technical expert who can provide on-site support for special purpose machinery, working with diesel engines, electric motors, hydraulic systems, and electronic control systems. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • To travel extensively throughout the UK, Europe, USA, and Australia to provide on-site technical support for our customers.
  • To diagnose and repair complex machinery issues using specialized tools and equipment.
  • To perform routine maintenance procedures and upgrades as required.
  • To maintain accurate records of work completed and liaise with customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • To stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to improve technical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
  • An engineering qualification (ideally mechanical or electrical) or equivalent QBE.
  • At least 5 years' experience in an engineering technical support role.
  • Extensive experience in fault diagnosis on hydraulic systems and electrical circuits.
  • Previous experience of working as a field technical engineer on-site.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to document work effectively.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £45k per annum, paid door-to-door with overtime thereafter. You will also receive a 9% employer pension contribution and 25 days' holiday. Benefits include personal Bupa Health Care and death in service insurance policy.
