Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

As a key member of our team at M Group Services, you will play a vital role in supporting our business by visiting various properties throughout the day to undertake work on Smart Meters. This is a non-technical role, and you will use a handheld device to carry out tasks in both domestic and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Re-communicate processes on Gas and Electric Smart Meters, including changing SIM cards, modems, and small gain aerials.
  • Re-join smart devices to the network while in contact with energy companies.
  • Exchange batteries on gas token meters.
  • Install high gain aerials on the exterior of properties using ladders.
  • Complete site surveys and other supporting work that requires a field-based engineer to visit properties.

You will be contracted to work 40 hours over Monday-Friday, with shifts between 08:00-20:00. Due to the nature of the work, successful applicants must pass a Colour sight deficiency test and hold a full UK driving license with no more than 6 points.

What You'll Bring to the Role:
  • Good geographical knowledge of local and surrounding areas.
  • Ability to learn quickly and grasp new tasks/opportunities.
  • Ability to use hand & 18v power tools.
  • Experience of using handheld tools.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and climb ladders, ensuring conformance to health and safety requirements.
  • Self-motivated and organised, as this is a lone working role.
  • Dedicated to the provision of excellent customer services.
