About the Role

Tarmac is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Multi-Skilled Operative. As a key member of our operational team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional health, safety, environmental, and quality performance in our plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure customers receive high-quality materials and timely deliveries
  • Operate mobile plant equipment, including rigid and articulated dump trucks and loading shovels
  • Assist in meeting daily and weekly production targets
  • Ensure plant safety and compliance with safety requirements
  • Contribute to health, safety, environmental, and quality responsibilities
  • Perform inspections and implement remedial actions as needed
  • Assist in the maintenance regime of the plant
  • Maximize plant availability and maintain a high standard of housekeeping

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar aggregates environment or industrial setting
  • Good communication skills and a desire to develop operative and supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of the industry, plant operations, and quarrying
  • Previous experience in mobile plant operations preferred
  • Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team
  • Self-motivation and ability to motivate colleagues
  • Knowledge of risk assessments and SSOW (HIRA) and Permit systems
  • Compliance with company policies, targets, and standards
  • Good timekeeping and communication skills
  • Full UK driving license and IT literacy
