About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cleaning Operative to join our team at Scarborough General Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start their career in cleaning and catering, with full training provided.
The main function of this post is to maintain high levels of cleanliness throughout designated areas and provide a catering service to patients. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the hospital environment remains safe and clean for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining cleanliness throughout assigned areas, including lifting items and operating industrial cleaning equipment
- Undertaking specialist cleaning tasks as required under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor and/or Nurse in Charge
- Assisting with meal distribution and plating up meals to meet dietary requirements
- Making and distributing hot drinks and cleaning and refilling water jugs
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A good basic education, including reading and writing skills, and basic numeric abilities
- A willingness to complete relevant qualifications and training, such as Food Hygiene Level 2 and customer service training
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
