About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team at ZF Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting all PLC/controls-related tasks, maintaining related databases and systems, and identifying and performing feasibility studies related to introducing automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support all PLC/controls-related tasks and maintain related databases and systems
  • Identify and perform feasibility studies related to introducing automation
  • Lead/support improvement projects related to reducing scrap, improving cycle time, and OEE
  • Support all areas of production and other groups (Advanced Manufacturing Engineering: AME, Quality, NPI engineering) from a manufacturing engineer perspective, leading NPI and NEI projects
  • Work within a continuous improvement culture driving towards ZERO defects by ensuring the best working practices and technologies are implemented

Requirements:

  • Engineering qualification required – Degree preferred but Minimum HNC with additional certifications related to job role
  • Experienced (minimum 5 years at qualified engineering level) and expected to work under pressure in a high-paced/high-volume environment, prioritizing projects based on business needs. Will be expected to lead projects and work as part of a team within engineering and across the business
  • Electrical bias with extensive knowledge of PLC (Allen Bradley/Siemens/Omron), controls systems, and automation
  • Must be willing and able to communicate effectively at all levels, within and out with the company. A diverse individual that can methodically solve high-level issues and can support other functions throughout the business
  • Proficient in English language with good communication skills to support and the willingness to travel globally (up to 3 times annually) to support equipment qualifications
