About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Age UK. As a key member of our retail team, you will play a vital role in supporting our Store Managers in all aspects of the business, ensuring the smooth running of our stores and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Store Manager in leading a team of Sales Assistants and volunteers, providing guidance and coaching to ensure excellent customer service and sales performance.
  • Assist with the management of stock, including receiving, storing, and rotating stock, as well as maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of retail strategies, including visual merchandising and promotional activities.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer queries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the Shop Manager to achieve sales targets and improve customer satisfaction.

Requirements
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, with a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and consultatively with the Shop Manager and team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to lift and carry bags of stock up to 10kg's, with a willingness to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
