Job Title: Transport Coordinator
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transport Coordinator to join our team at Workforce Staffing Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of transportation operations, coordinating with drivers, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driver Briefing and Debriefing: Conduct daily driver briefings and debriefings to ensure drivers are aware of their schedules, routes, and any important information.
- Safety Culture Promotion: Promote and embed a strong safety culture within the team by conducting safety sweeps, using STAR cards, and supporting accident/incident investigations.
- Run Folder Management: Maintain the site run folder, ensuring all run changes are communicated and up-to-date.
- Breakdown Management: Follow established procedures for managing breakdowns and recovering vehicles.
- Asset Control: Control and manage site assets, including GKNs, trolleys, and handheld devices.
- Operational Excellence: Identify and implement opportunities for improvement, driving operational excellence and efficiency.
- Work Instructions and SOPs: Ensure a thorough understanding of work instructions and standard operating procedures, and enforce adherence to these standards.
- Service Level Reporting: Provide accurate and timely service level reporting, including customer service and short/late reporting.
- Resource Allocation: Ensure accurate resource allocation, checking and reviewing regularly, and communicating changes to drivers.
- Fuel Management: Take ownership of the site fuel master key and track fuel usage.
- Vehicle Servicing: Coordinate with the garage function to ensure vehicle servicing is carried out efficiently.
- Tacho Master Management: Ensure accurate and compliant use of the Daily Tacho Master system.
- Trailer Checks: Conduct regular trailer checks, including temperature checks, and perform audits as necessary.
- Cross Dock Management: Manage cross-dock operations effectively.
- AS400 Housekeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the AS400 system.
- MMI Behaviors: Display and promote MMI behaviors within the team.
- 3PL Management: Manage third-party logistics effectively.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also need to be proficient in using relevant software and systems, and have a strong understanding of transportation operations and logistics.
