About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Lead to join our Mechanical Engineering team at SYSTRA UK & Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to lead a team of Mechanical Engineers and contribute to the delivery of high-profile projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Mechanical Engineers in the design and delivery of Mechanical Engineering projects
  • Act as the Responsible Engineer (CRE) and/or Lead Engineer on Mechanical Engineering projects
  • Ensure projects are completed to meet client requirements and applicable standards
  • Plan project works and provide resource forecasting to enable team leaders to allocate suitable resources
  • Identify changes to project requirements and raise them with the SYSTRA Project Management Team
  • Provide monthly cost forecasts to the SYSTRA Project Management Team
  • Ensure the training and development needs of the Mechanical team are met to serve client/project requirements
Requirements
  • Minimum HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Considerable experience and expertise in managing complex or non-standard design solutions
  • Detailed knowledge of mechanical services design within the built environment or transport infrastructure
  • Detailed knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues associated with M&E and building services
  • Detailed knowledge of construction principles and standards
  • Good understanding of CSM/CDM regulations and requirements
  • Good communication and presentation skills for external presentations to clients
  • Management of a team of Mechanical engineers on allocated projects
  • Maintaining good relationships with all external parties to enhance the reputation of the company
  • Maintaining good relationships with Engineers from other internal discipline teams to promote good inter-discipline working relationships and a "One Team" ethos
