Job Title: Commissioning Engineer

Our client, a leading Tier 1 D&B Contractor in the water industry, is seeking a skilled Commissioning Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all commissioning activities on various water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects for Thames Water.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out commissioning activities in a safe and compliant manner, ensuring work is undertaken in accordance with Company procedures, specifications, and good working practices.
  • Review and monitor MEICA related project risks to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Attend commissioning systems inductions and tool box talks to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements.
  • Collate and complete testing and inspection records (ITR/ITP) to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Liaise with the design team to ensure plant commissioning requirements are incorporated at the design stage and included in the appropriate scope of works.
  • Review design deliverables, including FDS, equipment and instrument lists, P&IDs, control philosophy, and telemetry requirements.
  • Develop and review compliance and commissioning plans in conjunction with design intent.
  • Oversee and sign off FAT and SAT, and process witness tests to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Assist in the development of the initial commissioning programme to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Attend progress and commissioning meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Compile commissioning documentation and deliverables to ensure accurate and complete records.
  • Provide input into commissioning strategy reviews and documentation to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Liaise with subcontractors regarding commissioning deliverables and interfaces to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Assist training coordinators in compiling training deliverables and engage in SW training sessions to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
  • Assist O&M coordinators in compiling and reviewing O&M manuals to ensure accurate and complete documentation.
  • Distribute commissioning logs and daily diaries to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • Proven electrical/mechanical commissioning experience.
  • Extensive site experience of water and/or water recycling operations.
  • Practical knowledge of water and/or water recycling processes.
  • A valid clean UK driving license.
  • Water hygiene card (blue water card).
  • CSCS card.
