Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Leader Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team at a Mainstream Primary School in Newcastle. The successful candidate will work closely with a child who has Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on a 1:1 basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the child with SEND in a mainstream primary school setting
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation of materials
  • Empower the child to reach their full potential by providing a motivating and supportive presence
  • Communicate effectively with teachers and other staff members to ensure the child's needs are met
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
  • Level 3 qualification in supporting children with SEND
  • Experience working with children with SEND
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
