We are seeking an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our team at Reed Talent Solutions. As a Transport Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the transportation operations of our client, a leading company in the environmental sustainability and recycling industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transportation Planning: Develop and implement transportation plans to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Team Management: Supervise and manage a team of 19 bulker/arctic drivers and a small team of office-based planning staff.
- Customer Service: Ensure excellent customer service by meeting customer requirements and expectations.
- Cost Management: Manage the fleet profit and loss costings and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Safety and Compliance: Promote a safety culture and ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
- Operational Efficiency: Maximize vehicle utilization and availability, and ensure day-to-day operations meet customer contract requirements.
Requirements:
- Experience: In-depth experience in transport operations, including transportation planning, team management, and customer service.
- Knowledge: Full knowledge of transport legislation and regulations.
- Skills: Strong IT literacy, particularly with MS Office, and experience supervising/managing a team.
Desirable Qualifications:
- CPC National: Possession of a CPC National qualification.
- Unionized Industry Experience: Experience working in a unionized industry.
