Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Production Supervisor to oversee the smooth operation of our manufacturing department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of production operators and ensuring the highest standards of quality and hygiene are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with and oversee the daily production of ice cream and sorbet.
  • Ensure all products are manufactured to Morelli standards and specifications.
  • Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.
  • Manage and maintain our HACCP system and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Manage our SALSA accreditation and other external audits.
  • Assist with staff planning and rosters.
  • Assist with managing costs and production yields and ensuring the company meets various key financial targets.
  • Supervise and train production operators, ensuring company and external standards are maintained to the highest level.
  • Assist with production planning to ensure adequate stock is produced to meet demand.

Essential Criteria:

  • A food-related degree.
  • At least three years of relevant food manufacturing experience, preferably at supervisory level.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Food Hygiene qualification.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to manage and motivate a production team.
  • A willingness to learn the methods and science behind ice cream production.
  • IT literate with medium/strong Word and Excel skills.
  • Good numeracy skills with the ability to make calculations and alter recipes.

  • Experience in using various types of food manufacturing equipment.

Salary: £32,000 - £34,000, with opportunities to progress in the future.
