About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team at Bristol Waste Company. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of our fleet of heavy goods vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine inspections, MOT preparations, and quality control inspections to ensure vehicles comply with statutory legislations.
  • Perform proactive and reactive maintenance, repairs, and breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient completion of fleet compliance records and workshop reports.
  • Repair mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions, and utilize vehicle diagnostic software to diagnose issues.
  • Evaluate service and parts options, and communicate with the team to determine the best course of action.
  • Ensure facilities are secure and maintain a high standard of brand image.
Requirements
  • Practical experience in maintaining commercial vehicles and knowledge of the vehicle repair industry.
  • Qualifications in vehicle maintenance, such as G&G level 2, IRTEC, or manufacturer-specific certifications.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the team.
  • A full driving license valid for use in the UK.
