We are currently working with a leading contractor in the steel fabrication industry, seeking a highly skilled Metalwork Project Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall success of multiple sites across the business, overseeing the site management team on various sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site surveys to ensure accurate project planning.
- Promote a good working relationship with clients, understanding their needs and expectations.
- Coordinate the design of projects between in-house design managers and external design sub-contractors to ensure compliant designs are provided on time.
- Ensure appropriate materials are ordered and organized to arrive on site as per the project programme.
- Coordinate labour for dedicated projects, arranging contractor packs as per the project programme.
- Produce and maintain suitable method statements, risk assessments, and lift plans to ensure safe systems of work are in place.
- Monitor operations on site to ensure safe systems of work are adhered to at all times.
- Collaborate with other project/contract/design managers in planning, scheduling, and carrying out works.
- Conduct on-site audits to ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines, good working practices, and company procedures.
- Set standards that comply with relevant statutory requirements relating to health, safety, and welfare.
Requirements:
- CSCS Site Manager Card and SMSTS.
- BTEC, HNC, or HND in a building-related subject, or work-based NVQs.
- High level of commercial awareness.
- Experience in commercial and industrial sectors.
- Good clear communication and client-facing skills.
- Strong understanding of health and safety.
- Fully up-to-date with health and safety regulations.
- Extensive knowledge in the metalwork industry.
- Previous experience as a Project/Contracts Manager.
- Good IT skills, including word, excel, and outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Full UK driving license (desirable).
