This position involves approximately 20% audit work, providing exposure to a range of businesses, primarily owner-managed, from £10m turnover to £50m turnover. As a key member of the team, you will report directly to the Accounts and Audit Manager and be responsible for:

  • Reviewing year-end accounts prepared by junior colleagues.
  • Preparing more complex year-end accounts.
  • Liaising with the team and clients throughout audits, from planning to completion.
  • Hosting and conducting pre-audit and post-audit meetings with clients.
  • Mentoring colleagues, reviewing their work, and encouraging prompt and high-quality delivery and service.
  • Developing and expanding the team's skillset through development plans, training, and support.
  • Contribution to the firm's growth by retaining existing clients and building relationships with prospective clients.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification, or be part-qualified.
  • Previous experience in year-end accounts preparation within a firm of chartered accountants.
  • Previous auditing experience, ideally with leadership roles, gained within a firm of chartered accountants.

This role comes with a competitive salary of £42,000 - £52,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, you will receive full study support towards an ACA or ACCA qualification (if needed), free parking, monthly social events, and a competitive holiday package.
