Madisons Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Gas Engineer to join their client's team in the West Midlands area on a permanent basis.

  • Lead projects and teams, providing technical support to onsite engineers and office staff.
  • Conduct site inspections, post-work inspections, engineer meetings, toolbox talks, tool audits, van audits, and staff inductions.
  • Utilize knowledge and boiler fault-finding experience to provide high-quality first-time fixes and exceptional customer care.
  • Perform day-to-day responsive maintenance, service, and repairs as instructed.
  • Conduct servicing and safety checks on all heating systems, identifying necessary works to ensure compliance with current gas/oil safety regulations.
  • Respond to boiler/system breakdowns, inspect, and identify required works to ensure heating systems function correctly.
  • Make immediate decisions regarding repair requirements when the original job order does not reflect the actual works needed, and inform the relevant director.
  • Direct helpers engaged in assembly or installation of heating systems or components.
  • Maintain and update all necessary training to perform the role.
  • Accurately complete all relevant documentation associated with duties and ensure the prompt return of all relevant information to the office.
  • When a company vehicle is provided, ensure it is used in accordance with the company's current policies and procedures.
  • Operate all company property, including motor vehicles, uniforms, tools, etc., safely, keep them clean, and in good order, and test them when required to maintain safe working of all heating systems.
  • Take a proactive approach to finding and quoting additional works when required.
  • Adhere to the company's policies and procedures, handbook, and Health & Safety.
  • Recognized gas apprenticeship and Commercial gas certificates ACS CCN1, CEN1, HTR1, WAT1, CKR1, CPA1.
  • Gas experience within the commercial sector, including analyzing, fault-finding, servicing, repairing, and maintaining gas/heating installations and appliances.
  • Working knowledge of test equipment, including an electrical multi-meter.
  • Flexible approach, with travel involved, including multiple sites across the West & East Midlands, and some wider travel as required.
  • Participate in the emergency call-out team on a rota basis.
  • Willing to undertake further training/development within the post as required.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Must have had or be willing to have all Covid vaccinations.
