The Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our theatre team, you will be responsible for leading a team on a day-to-day basis, while supporting the longer-term planning of care delivery within one specific specialty.


The successful applicant will be a registered Nurse/operating theatre practitioner with a substantial general surgery scrub experience. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work using your own initiative as well as working effectively within a team.


You will work closely with the theatre manager to ensure that quality-driven indicators are monitored through audit within the area. Ensuring high standards are maintained that promote best outcomes for patients. Provide appropriate and consistent professional advice to other members of the theatre team.


Main duties of the job



  • Act as a credible, visible role model for all junior theatre staff.
  • Support the theatre team in resolving clinical and operational issues on a shift-by-shift basis, ensuring that best practice care is delivered.
  • Work in collaboration with the theatre manager to establish a cleanliness culture across the department, ensuring that the patient environment is well-maintained, clean, and safe.
