Lead DevOps Engineer
Business Applications Manager
Location: London Docklands
We are seeking an experienced DevOps engineer to lead our team in the development and operation of our business-critical applications.
As a lead DevOps engineer, you will be responsible for leading a small team of skilled DevOps engineers working across a range of cloud-based technologies, including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Azure, Kofax and Microsoft SharePoint online.
Key Responsibilities
- DevOps Lifecycle and Roadmap: Own the DevOps lifecycle and strategic roadmap, automating manual tasks for deploying and developing to implement CICD and ensure high availability of our production and non-production environments.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate with third-party suppliers, technology colleagues, and the wider business, deciding when to escalate and keep up to date with industry trends and best practices.
- Team Growth and Development: Grow the team's capability through new working practices, introducing new tools and processes, and planning for the future from capacity to stability to continuously improving methods to automate, ensure consistency, and improve the up-time of our systems.
- IT Solutions and Automation: Deploy a variety of IT solutions to a range of environments, scripting and automating our processes to ensure the smooth running of our applications across a range of servers and environments.
- Change Pipeline and Efficiency: Improve the change pipeline including the full continuous delivery (CD) and continuous integration (CI) processes, ensuring everything is as efficient as possible.
Requirements
- Technical Expertise: Be a technical SME with experience in a development and operational environment using Microsoft tools.
- CI/CD Experience: Have experience building CI and CD using tools such as Azure DevOps, Team City, and Octopus.
- Agile Methodologies: Work within Agile teams with Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
- Communication and Collaboration: Have good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and issues to a variety of colleagues.
