Job Title: Registered Nurse - School Immunisation Service

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in providing immunisation services to schools in Suffolk. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering clinical duties related to immunisation, working collaboratively with the team to ensure the smooth continuity of service delivery.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Vaccinate 20 to 25 school children per hour during the flu season.
  2. Support the team in promoting and operating the School Aged Immunisation Service.
  3. Collaborate with Programme Managers, Team Lead, and Clinical Lead as applicable.
  4. Attend sites across different locations as required.
  5. Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to patients.
  6. Participate in clinical supervision and staff performance development.
  7. Ensure all clinical incidents, near misses, and complaints are reported and processed in line with organisational policies.
  8. Participate in audits and share outcomes with the team for learning.
  9. Attend clinical supervision with the Clinical Lead as directed.
  10. Actively contribute to team meetings.
  11. Undertake Gillick Competency Assessments and obtain verbal consent from parents and caregivers.
  12. Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this position.
Requirements:
  • NMC registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife.
  • Nursing and/or Midwifery Qualification.
  • Ability to drive.
Desirable Skills:
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Experience working within PGD frameworks.
  • Understanding of the Routine National Immunisation schedule.
  • Ability to implement informed consent principles.
  • Cold chain management, ordering, and arranging transport.
