We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our client, a leading engineering design and contracting company, in delivering complex projects within the oil and gas and petrochemical industries.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a company committed to innovative engineering solutions and excellence in project delivery, in a full-time permanent role based in Darlington.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing engineering resources and guiding project teams to deliver designs, technical drawings, and solutions in accordance with project specifications.
- Tracking project performance, budgets, and timelines, while putting strategies in place to minimize risks.
- Leading the resolution of multi-disciplinary technical challenges and ensuring compliance with contractual commitments.
- Coordinating client interfaces and managing subcontractor scope, including costs.
- Preparing project documentation such as execution plans and quality reports, ensuring alignment with company standards.
- Offering technical support and monitoring health, safety, and quality procedures across all engineering activities.
- Handling project communication, ensuring proper channels are followed, and maintaining up-to-date records.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree/HND in an engineering discipline.
- Career significant experience, with a substantial minimum time as a Project Engineer in engineering design or contracting environments.
- Strong understanding of codes and standards in the international oil and gas, and petrochemical sectors.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills, with a strong commercial and risk awareness.
