About the Role

Western Power is seeking a Senior Community Engagement Specialist to join our team in Perth. As a key member of our Community Engagement team, you will play a critical role in shaping our approach to community engagement and social performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies for new infrastructure and maintenance projects
  • Design and deliver engagement plans that meet Western Power's brand and strategic objectives
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including Local Government and project partners
  • Engage with rural stakeholders and communities, with a focus on building strong relationships and trust
  • Provide stakeholder management and communications advice on contentious issues
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Social Planning, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in community engagement, stakeholder management, or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at multiple stakeholder levels
  • Ability to prioritize work and critically assess own performance
  • Excellent listening skills, with a strong ability to demonstrate understanding and empathy
