About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Rail Project Engineer to join our transportation division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating work with other contractors and network rail, liaising with route engineers, and participating in engineering and development assurance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate work with other contractors and network rail.
  • Liaise with route engineers.
  • Participate in all engineering and development assurance activities to ensure schemes are affordable, meet programme requirements, and are safe and environmentally responsible.
  • Participate in the engineering assurance process, considering safety, reliability, maintainability, ease of construction, and environmental/whole life issues.
  • Review compliance with appropriate standards.
  • Evaluate and compare options using risk ID and evaluation methods.
  • Assure the development of the selected single option.
  • Assure the preparation of the full engineering assurance package required for commencement of the detailed design.
  • Carry out engineering verifications.
  • Manage the engineering interfaces of allocated proposals with concurrent work in other disciplines.
  • Act as or liaise with the appropriate project engineer to produce and approve method statements for site works and surveys.
  • Assure whether contractors' design, construction, and specialist personnel are competent.

Requirements:

  • Able to undertake the NR/L2/RSE/02009 role of Project Engineer (PE).
  • SOUND understanding of the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) 2015 regulations, & common safety method (CSM) 2013 regulations, specifically the requirements associated with asset protection on third party, major and minor projects.
  • SOUND understanding of network rail's requirements regarding the risk assessment process including CSM-RA.
