About the Role:

We are recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Hounslow school. As a key member of our SEN department, you will provide high-quality support to a 6th form student with Autism, enabling them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver tailored 1:1 support to a 6th form student with Autism, addressing their learning and social needs.
  • Develop and implement behaviour strategies in line with Team Teach training to promote positive behaviour and reduce challenging incidents.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to design and implement individual learning and behaviour plans.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student confidence and independence.
  • Modify learning materials to cater to the specific needs of the student.
  • Contribute to regular feedback sessions with teachers and SENCO, informing reports on student progress.

Requirements:
  • Hold a valid Team Teach qualification.
  • Demonstrate proven experience working with students with Autism, preferably in a 6th form setting.
  • Exhibit strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Show empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting students with special educational needs.

Compensation Package: £32,000 - £38,000 per annum
