We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Endocrinology Consultant to join our team at the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide evidence-based care for patients with endocrine and diabetes conditions, including multidisciplinary team working and regular MDT discussions.
- Develop and implement sub-specialty interests that align with departmental needs and the Trust's strategic direction.
- Contribute to teaching, examination, and accreditation duties, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate medical education activities.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing medical education.
- Provide cover for Consultant colleagues' periods of leave, in accordance with Trust policy.
The Great Western Hospital is a large, busy, modern district general hospital serving a population of approximately 350,000. Our department sees the full range of endocrine and diabetes conditions, including specialist clinics for thyroid disorders, male hypogonadism, and complex type 2 diabetes. We have a strong multidisciplinary team, including specialist nurses, clinical psychologists, dieticians, and podiatrists.
Person Specification- Fully registered with the GMC and on the Specialist Register in Endocrinology & Diabetes and GIM.
- CCT (or equivalent) or be accredited (or equivalent) and within 6 months of CCT at interview.
- MRCP (UK) or equivalent.
