Mechanical Tradesperson

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Pipefitter/Plumber to join our client's team in Barrow. As a Pipefitter/Plumber, you will be responsible for fabricating and installing pipe spools, preparing pipework for installation on ships, and adhering to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical trades, including pipe fabrication and installation. Additionally, previous experience in shipbuilding, marine, or heavy industry is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
- Fabricate and install pipe spools using various materials
- Prepare pipework for installation on ships
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including the use of PPE and RPE
- Read and understand technical drawings and measurements

Requirements
- Time-served status and ability to provide trade papers upon application
- Previous experience in shipbuilding, marine, or heavy industry (ideal)
- Knowledge of shock clearance requirements, cutting, and preparation of non-target material pipework
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, work to datum, and measure in imperial units
