**Job Title:** Industrial Chemist - Hazardous Waste Management
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Chemist to join our team in managing hazardous waste. As an Industrial Chemist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe transportation of chemicals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of chemical functional groups and relevant laws. They will also be able to interpret safety data sheets and understand COSHH symbols and associated road transport diamonds.
In this role, you will work at various facilities, including customer premises, which may involve travel and night shifts. You will assist in generating sufficient information to identify and classify waste materials, ensuring safety and handling advice can be prepared.
The estimated salary for this position is £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
**Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the preparation of waste streams for safe transportation
- Conduct risk assessments to ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
- Develop and maintain accurate records of waste management activities
- Provide technical assistance to customers on waste handling and disposal
Requirements:
- HNC Chemistry qualification (Minimum)
- GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English Language
- IT literate - Using MS Office
- Proven track record of working to clearly defined KPI's
- Knowledge & understanding of chemical functional groups and relevant laws
- Able to interpret a safety data sheet
- Knowledge & understanding of COSHH symbols and associated road transport diamonds
- Knowledge and understanding of time-critical hazardous waste environment requirements
- Analytical skills with ability to measure and monitor data
- Ability to deal with conflict, organisational skills to simplify complex issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels
- Full, clean UK valid driving licence

- Solid pragmatic approach to delivering to tight deadlines and targets
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise
- Work independently with minimal supervision
