Job Title: Software Engineer

Job Summary:

Osmii is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying high-quality Java applications using the Spring Boot framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop robust software solutions using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other developers to deliver high-quality software products.
  • Ensure application code adheres to coding standards and best practices.
  • Assess existing systems, identify migration strategies, and develop cloud-native solutions.
  • Work with DevOps teams to automate deployment pipelines using tools such as Gitlab, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of Java applications on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Ensure all applications and cloud environments comply with security standards and industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot framework.
  • Knowledge of Cloud services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and GKE.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development and frameworks for unit/integration tests.
  • Good understanding of containerisation and container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, Git, Gitlab etc.).
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and caching mechanisms.
  • Understanding of networking, security, and IAM in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Desired Skills:

  • Working experience with Google Cloud Platform.
  • Google Cloud Professional certification.
  • Experience migrating applications with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Experience working in large organisations and being part of migration programs.
