About the Job

We are looking for an experienced Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to join our Quality Assurance Practice & Improvement Service in Cambridgeshire County Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safeguarding of children is central to all decision making, and will manage a busy and varied caseload to ensure the well-being and safety of children.

Job Description
  • Convene and chair multi-agency Allegations Management Meetings where the threshold for LADO intervention is met.
  • Provide training to partner agencies to raise awareness of the LADO and ensure policies and procedures are followed to safeguard children.
  • Represent Children's Services by attending Cambridgeshire and Peterborough MAPPA meetings.

The ideal candidate will have a Social Work qualification and experience in working in a fast-paced environment and managing risk. They will also have experience in safeguarding children and the ability to recognise, analyse and manage risk.
