About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our Commercial team at A.D.S Construction Personnel Ltd. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the success of our company by providing accurate and timely estimates for civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and manage tender bookings, logging into the shared tender list system, and processing contract information.
  • Make initial contact with clients to confirm acceptance or decline of tenders.
  • Obtain quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers for predicted requirements.
  • Assist in producing take-offs and cost databases for analysis by others.
  • Calculate the cost of materials, transport, labor, and plant hire.
  • Understand the commercial aspects of measurement, bills, and rate presentation.
  • Understand and clarify client requirements, offering value engineering for discussion with the management team.
  • Undergo regular site visits to understand the process, timings, and sciences of estimating.
  • Chase and follow up on previously submitted tenders, ensuring clients have a comprehensive analysis.
  • Assess and adhere to all risk assessments and health and safety requirements.
  • Keep up to date with inflation and projected timescale costs.
  • Make visits to proposed construction sites.
  • Present bids to clients and answer questions.
Requirements
  • Experience as an Estimator on civil engineering schemes.
  • Strong understanding of commercial aspects of measurement, bills, and rate presentation.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
