Residential Support Worker (Child) Job Description

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker (Child) to join our dynamic school in Gateshead. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential support and care to children, ensuring their well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality support and care to children in a residential setting, promoting their physical, emotional, and educational development.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans, working closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
  • Foster a safe and nurturing environment, promoting a sense of belonging and community among our young people.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless communication and a consistent approach to care and support.
  • Monitor and report on the progress and well-being of students, providing regular updates to parents and carers.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Residential Support Worker (Child) or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of child development and safeguarding principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the changing needs of our students.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • Enhanced DBS registration and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
